This is a negative response. St. Mary's Orphan Asylum is not listed among the dozens of similar institutions on pages 107-08 of "The Centennial Guide to New York City"---a reprint of the 1876 edition titled, "History of and How to see New York."

The time frame in which you are interested is earlier than my expertise and the content of the book I published in 1982, "Adoption Agencies, Orphanages and Maternity Homes--An Historical Directory."
