DEAR MR. NILES:

Thank you for your posting, but I was already familiar with the information you mention and I am still awaiting a response from someone in the area who can perhaps suggest other avenues for research, such as city directories, etc. and I need a response that is much sooner than "decades".

I have no standing to order the death certificate since I am not a relative and the place where benefits were paid is more likely to be a surviving relative who lives in Patchogue, since the death index showed that Mr. Stummer died in New York, NY.
