Don't know if this will help. I've been trying for years to locate an aunt who was born at Matrnity Hosp. in Blackwell Island in July 1885 and died there (or then known as Charity Hosp. Blackwell Island. Since I've searched all the parishes in the area for burial info. have been advised by someone with a relative born in the same hosp. that these infants may have been buried in "Potters Field" on Roosevelt Island or Hart Island. I believe they are both the same place. Perhaps you can find out something from this point. If you do - I'd appreciate any info, so that I might go further myself with my own quest. Good luck, and I'll look forward to the results of your search. Would be encouraging at least to know if someone was found!
