Hi Dick,

Do you get my direct e-mail regarding Potter's Field records? Trust that was okay to do.
In case not, the PF records are available after roughly 10 years from the date of death from the Municipal Archives of the City of NY at 31 Chambers St. in Manhattan.
It is best to obtain a death certificate first because the records are in ledgers which run chronologically. I can explain more if I hear from you because it helps to know the "layout" of the ledgers and what you should look or ask for.
If the death occurred between 1891-1936 in NYC, there is a database that covers those years which will give the death certificate number. That will reduce the cost of obtaining a death certificate if you don't know the exact date.
A death certificate that states the burial was at "City Cemetery", "Hart Island" or even those that don't indicate a place of burial, usually all refer to the PF.
Hope this helps.

Jo
