Two other big ones of the time were Weber ("warerooms at 5th Avenue and W. 16th Street) and Chickering (a Boston firm, but doubtless had showrooms in NY). Also, Decker Brothers, 33 Union Square, and Sohmer, 149 to 165 East 14th Street, NYC. I can't imagine how you'd be able to get employment records, but I wish you luck.
