Your welcome. I had seen a book at our UCONN library...ads from NYC papers..later 1800s.....but I can't remember the title..if I come across it again, I'll look for piano companies. I had a great grandfather who came through NYC in 1880..later worked for a piano co. in Meriden...Wilcox and Reynolds I think....I don't know if he heard of the job when he arrived in NYC from Sweden...could be....but then there were silver companies too, drawing people up to CT. I also had a grandmother, Ives, who was a pianist and organist so I am always looking for piano info...she was fromCT. but lived down in PC, NY....I also had some Williams on my mom's side, who were in NYC in the late 1800s..from NJ and before that CT, then moved back up to Milford, Ct......married into the Fords...I have been digging into social life in NYC...there is a NYU site you know, for research on NYC too.....
