The NY Genealogical Society has published NYC coroner's reports from the
mid-1700's to the mid-1800's in book form; maybe they can advise on access
to later reports or perhaps browsing around their website you can find some
info. Apparently after about 1842 the only reports that were archived were
those where there was a finding of homicide.

I don't know, but I would like to - I have a murder in 1880 I am trying to
find out about. I believe the Bertill(i?)on cards for criminals are also
available, but I do not know exactly how to get those either - I also would
appreciate anything anyone else can tell me about this.

coroner's or forensics reports in Manhattan? I read an article in a
genealogical magazine (Ancestry?) back in the early 90's regarding
coroner's reports and their availability but can't remember exactly where I
read it.
