Lookng for an obituary, death notice or newpaper report about the death of Howard Francis Carney, born May 1st, 1914 in Spokane, Washington. Howard died in Knickerbocker Hospital, Manhattan, New York in very late April or early May of 1944. Howard’s body was transported back to Portland, Oregon for burial on May 9th, 1944 in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

Howard's parents were Francis Edward Carney, b. 7-25-1882, d. 5-6-1933 and Sally Hanson, b. 1888 - d 10-1963.

It may be possible that Howard was enlisted in the Army or Navy at thye time of his death. I am tring to verify a report that Howard died from injuries after a fall from a gangplank.
