Where would you look first for the obituary of my gr-gr-gr-grandfather?

JOHN SCHEIDER, grocer
born BAVARIA in 1826
died JULY 16, 1890 at 353 W. 37th Street Manhattan which was residence for 20 years
husband of Mary Maurer
buried CALVARY cemetery JULY 18, 1890
Always lived in the 200-400 blocks between W. 34 & W. 37th

Am presently waiting for film for WIlls and Letters of Admin but would like to try for his obituary as well and am unsure where to look.
