Hello,
Thank you for your comprehensive response and the information which is helping identify Jennie (OLDFIELD) BURROWS.
My Abraham Fenton BURROWS migrated to US with his brother William Armstrong BURROWS c1868 and is recorded in the 1870 census in Ohio where he was a nurseryman. After the death of his brother in 1875, Abraham is next recorded in the 1880 census in California and was married to Jennie E. OLDFIELD 12th April 1880 at San Luis Obispo CA. Daughter, Fay BURROWS, was born 19th February 1881.
Abraham, Jennie and Fay are recorded in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census in Kings NY. I have copies of these records if you would like me to send them as an email attachment.
I now have details from the 1930 census under the name BURROUS showing:
State of New York, village of North Pelham in Westchester Co, NY.
Abraham F. BURROWS age 81, married at age 31, wife Jennie age 74, daughter Fay, age 49, single, born CA.
The death record for Abraham BURROWS shows that he died 24th March 1936 N. Pelham, NY, certificate 21295.
The person who did the lookup checked through to 1929 but could not find Jennie’s death.
Regards
David
