Hi,
I'm doing some research for my friend Patti. Her mother was Mary Ellen (or Mary Frances) O'Leary who married Joseph Priess in Manhattan at the Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church in 1923. Patti has a copy of the marriage cert from the church. Their first three children were born in NY, and we assume they lived in Manhattan during that time, as the 1930 census (in New Haven, CT, where they had relocated) says NY as the birthplace for those children. I'm wondering if someone could look for Joseph Priess in the NYC directory for the years 1924-28 and give me an address for him. I want to determine the church of the children's baptisms to look for sponsors. I could start with calling the church where they were married, but it's long-distance... :-(
