Message Board Post:

My line suddenly changed from "Samuel" in England to "Samuels" in Brooklyn, NY in the 1900 census.
Seeking those with connections to Morris Samuel married Sarah Jacobs in St Prince's Synagogue Middlesex England 2/19/1879.

They immigrated to the US (Kings Co, Brooklyn, New York abt. 1885-1889, depending on various census data) with a few children b. England and had more in NY.

Children I know of are:
Handig/Henry b. abt. Sep 1878 England
Samuel b. abt Aug 1881 England
Charles b. Mar 1884 England
Abraham b. Apr 27 1887 NY
Jacob b. Apr 1887 NY

I have the father's line (Morris Samuel) back to the 1861 England census. The mother's line (Sarah Jacobs) has been harder to trace, (but I have other possible connections to her, just haven't quite found the "proof" to connect her to my Jacobs yet). I also have been able to trace a bit of info for a few of this couple's children in NY, or at least I think so.

I think son Samuel may have married a Gertrude, I think son Charles may have married a Minnie, I'm fairly confident Abraham married a Ella, and fairly confident son Jacob married a Lillie.

FYI and to avoid wasted work...I already have the 1881 England census for Morris and Sarah, the 1900 US NY census data for Morris and Sarah and the 1910 NY census data for Sarah (Sadie) as a widow....and I also have the 1861-1901 England census data for Morris and his family. Have found some info in the NY census data 1920 & 1930 regarding the children, although I'm still floundering there. Not quite sure if they are the ones. Same for military data for these children in NY. From 1920 on, all is assumption and hoping the data I have found connects.

If anyone finds these names familiar, I would greatly appreciate a response.
