I am looking for any information about Stewarts, 2 bars/cafe/art gallery. One was located at 8 Warren St and Broadway and the other at 4and 6 John St.
The John St. one was famous for first circular bar in NYC and offered a free lunch... frequented by Wall St Brokers. The Warren St was famous for his art collection. He opened fromm 9-11am just for ladies to come see the art.
The owner of these bars was Theodore Stewart. I have the NY Times articles about his death and bequests. Would especially like any prints, photos of the bars. Also, would love to find out what happened to all the art work.
