Hi, I have recently connected some pieces of data which leads me to the New
York area, from Scotland in my Caird family line.

I have David CAIRD and family who appear in the 1851 census for
Kincardineshire, Scotland.

Next I found a ships passenger list with the same family in 1853 sailing to
New York. David CAIRD then appears in the 1860 census for Plains, Luzerne,
PA US.

David appears to have remarried by 1880.

1880 US Household:
David CAIRD Self M Male W 61 SCOT Supt. Water Co. SCOT
SCOT
Susan A. CAIRD Wife M Female W 55 SCOT Keeping House SCOT
SCOT

Source Information:
Census Place Wilkes Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania
Family History Library Film 1255149
NA Film Number T9-1149
Page Number 639B

David had a son James who went on to be Minister of Church of Ascension,
Troy New York. James had children Farnham, Jean and James Morton.

David's other children were Margaret Murray and Betty Watson. Betty Watson
CAIRD went on to marry a William SQUAREY in 1875 Wilkes Barre, Luzerne.

I have a lot of research on my CAIRD Family back to 1700's in Scotland. Is
there anyone else researching this family?

Kathleen
