I found the following on Google. "Apr 25 (1801) - Maiden Lane merchant Charles Holmes and six other New York City passengers drown when a Brooklyn Ferry is overturned during a storm, which also drowns fisherman Jacob Fornell." Does anyone know what newspaper carried this notice? I would be interested in finding the details as Mr. Holmes may be a possible ancestor. Thanks... Jackie
