Happy New Year

I'm sending this also to the lists in hopes that someone will come through
with some look-ups.

"Friedman Murray born 23 November 1898, Brooklyn. Certificate no. 18303"
This does indeed sound like your Friedman.
Our records are NOT always accurate, especially when done as a transcript.
Handwriting, accents, educational skills play a large part.

If you have a FHC(Family History Center near you or you can do it on line,
you can send for the cert. They are very inexpensive.

Then go for the Census after you have the place of birth.

There were 2 census done back then. A federal, every 10 years and a state on
the 5 year up until and including 1925.
1900 Federal
1905 State
1910 Federal
1915 State
1920 Federal
1925 State
1930 Federal
(which is the last year available at this time, as we require a 70 year span
before releasing these records to the general public.)

A little help here Brooklynites & New Yorkers, for a a man whose father and
friends helped keep us free!!

Could someone with access to Ancestry Census try to look up this family from
Ancestry?

Viva La France!

Nancy
