Castle Garden & cheap labor by immigrant Alsations>

All but seven of the Alsatians arriving on La Champaigne on Sunday, and
detained at Castle Garden, were released yesterday by order of the Collector,
who held that their affidavits did not indicate that they were contract
laborers. They were sent to the German emigrant house, No. 28 State street, and
today they start for Florida on the Clyde Steamship Seminole.
