Celia J. Gillis, of Newfane, NY wife of the late George Gillis entered into rest Wednesday, October 2, 2002 in Newfane
Health Care Facility. Born in Lockport, NY August 9, 1917, 85 years old, the daughter of the late Jacob and Josephine
Donnor Ball. She married George Gillis December 24, 1938, he died in 1975.
She was a cafeteria assistant for over 10 years in Newfane Central School. She has lived in the Newfane-Lockport area all her life. Member of the Newfane Senior Citizens and attended the Nutrition Lunch Program at Faith Lutheran Church.
Mother of William (Roberta) of Barker, NY, James of Newfane, NY, David "Sonny" of Sandy Pond, NY, Jean (Richard) See of Newfane, NY, Kathy "Becky" Sullivan of Newfane, NY, and the late John Gillis; grandmother of William Jr., Robert, Mark, Neil Gillis, Karin Hayes, Kim (Ron) Sample, Walter and Robert Mitton, Angela See, Randall (Jen Windagle) Sullivan, Kimberly Sullivan, Jason (Michelle) Gillis, and Tracy (Mike) Nichols; mother-in-law of Rosalie Gillis of Middleport; sister of Marian Grimble of Lockport, and the late Dorothy Finley, Raymond, Harold, Linus, and Kenneth Ball, Catherine Taylor, and Florence Robinson; sister-in-law of Dorothy Ball of Newfane and Charles Robinson of Lockport; also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY Sunday from 1-5 PM where funeral services will be held Monday at 10 AM. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery.
Milton J. Stoll
Simonds Saw and Steel Retiree
Milton J. Stoll passed away October 2, 2002 in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born June 3, 1913 in Lockport, he was the son of William and Hanora Sheehan Stoll.
Milton was a retired production worker from Simonds Saw and Steel. He was pre-deceased by his wife the late Beatrice Wendler Stoll who passed away April 29, 1980.
He was the father of Diana Y. (Neil) Valentine, Charles G. (Kathleen) Stoll, Marlene A. Buzyniski all of Lockport and the late William F. Stoll. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jeffrey and Kevin Valentine of Lockport, Scott Stoll of Glennallen, VA, Brian Stoll of Richmond, VA, Mark Buzyniski of Watertown and Eric Buzyniski of Lockport; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Milton was pre-deceased by six brothers, William "Bill" Stoll, Harold "Tup" Stoll, Ralph Stoll, Donald Stoll, Charles "Jake" Stoll and Norman Stoll and four sisters Ethel Williams, Stella Collins Kern, Marie "Dolly" Delaney and Gertrude Stevens.
Friends may call Friday evening 7 to 9 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street where funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 AM.
