Oh Lordy, Bob,

You have no idea how much your message meant to me at this VERY late hour!
Regarding the "main drag" under the railroad viaduct, from Maple Avenue and
the Deveaux section of the town, that started out as being Lewiston Road and
after it dipped down under the viaduct, it became Main St. BTW, I have a
special memory of the viaduct (which for you younger whippersnappers was a
bit of a concrete tunnel under the railroad tracks overhead). I remember oh
so clearly May 8, 1945 which was VE Day (Victory in Europe). I picked up a
piece of rock or stone and carved or wrote my name plus the date on the wall
of the viaduct to commemorate the occasion. Such was the form of graffiti
in those days!

Oh my goodness, what a tragedy when we would see those blue stars in the
windows turn to gold!! Even at my young age, I knew what that meant. We
had lost another one of "our boys."

I guess I better go to bed now before I cry my eyes out in remembering.
