Subject: [FOLKS] Sometimes it helps to act crazy!

Dear Folks,
During the past couple of days I've been laughing my head off at some of the crazy things I've been doing recently. Of course they're mostly in my head but I've been sharing my thoughts with a few of my most craziest friends. Why have I been acting crazy like this? Well, even though I certainly realize my worth in the world and my continuing good efforts, frankly in the crude vernacular of the most younger generation, "my life sucks!" Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone but that's the way it goes.
My arthritis gives me greater pain on a daily basis and it seems quite evident that my peripheral neuropathy will continue to the point where my unsteady legs will have to depend on, first, a walker and then a pathetic wheel chair. But that's called facing the eventual reality. However, that doesn't mean that I don't have a few more belly laughs left in me. Oh no sirree indeed!
Recently my craziness started back a few weeks ago when I hooked up by email with a good ole Navy WAVE from WWII who lives in California. She's 80 years old and she has her own physical problems. However, we started to giggle a lot together. She let me know that she's a Jew and is still touchy over the subject. I responded "Oy Vey!" And from there we've kvetched a lot to/at each other and have become the best of friends. And we've been laughing our heads off ever since.
Meanwhile back at Creek Road in Youngstown, NY, in a flight of fancy, I envisioned a crazy scenario. There would be me hobbling along with my walker and a fictional little old lady up Creek Road, Bertha Mae, who was in the same shape. Of course we live out in the country and if we were to go out walking together it would either have to be on the edge of the road or on the rough grass along side it. Nonetheless, to add a bit of excitement to our quiet countryside, I figured that if Bertha Mae and I would put on a walker race between us, the folks further down Creek Road would find it entertaining. And if there was enough interest in watching us dashing madly down Creek Road with our walkers we could eventually sell tickets to the exhibition, thereby hopefully ending up with Bertha Mae and me pocketing enough money to afford a singles cruise to the Bahamas!!
BTW, I've shared that crazy scenario with our local deputy town clerk whose name will remain anonymous. However, we're now working on what sort of outrageous fashion statement Bertha Mae and I want to make. Somehow we both feel that Spandex is a bit of an overkill but combat boots are still being considered!
However, there's only one problem with the whole above story. Apparently my email messages are being tapped and today I received a phone call from the men in the little white coats. Their message was very short. They know where I live, they told me they would be over to my house shortly but as a nice gesture they were bringing me my very own personal family coat of arms. However, after they arrived here in their ambulance, I shortly realized that my family coat of arms had sleeves that tie in the back!
Hey, if you can't dig up a giggle or two on occasion you ain't really living!
