Dear Vee:

I have to empathize (sp!) with you on peripheral neuropathy. As you know, I have neuropathy in my feet and hands due to diabetes. Although my neuropathy is different than yours, I can totally relate to what you're feeling, or not feeling, as the case may be. I have thoughts wondering what could happen to me when and if I ever have to be con -fined to a wheelchair.

I have another scare as well. Recently I've been experiencing "mini seizures", and though I've had a battery of tests including an EEG. The Dr. couldn't find the cause of the mini seizures. While it's in the back of my mind I could have one at any time, I try to think of other things, and then I don't worry about it as much.

At any rate, I can relate to your friend who has MS. My mom was diagnosed with MS back in 1966 when I was in 6th grade. We were all devastated and wondered how we could cope. Mom turned out to be our strength and backbone to our family. She declared she wouldn't end up in a wheelchair or be bedridden. Her tenacity and will power have served her well and her Dr's have said that most other people would give up. Mom is one of those independant types, and she still lives in the house we grew up in. Now Mom is admitting that the house is getting harder for her to keep up and she is thinking about selling it. I worry about her living alone with me two states away, although my sister lives about 2 hrs. from Mom.

At any rate, we still don't know what's causing the mini seizures, but they are yet another thing I have to live with and accept!

Kim
