wonder if he naturalized?

the FHL has a bunch of films on naturalizations...as an example, the FHL film
number for Richmond County Clerk Naturalization index 1820-1906 for surname
STODDARD would be 0945142.

also, nara-ny would do a free lookup in their indexes. $10 for a copy of the
papers, if they find them. they'll take requests via email, but want your
snail mail address for their response.
