Dave and Dick -
While the McDonald surname may not be found in Schoharie proper, certainly the
Captain McDonald of Butler's Rangers must have been a member of one of the
Scots-Irish Tory families of Johnstown in what is now Montgomery County (help
me here, Dick), and is prominent in most Revolutionaly War annals. This ares
would not have been differentiated from Albany County or Tryon County at that
time. Could this be the McDonald in question?
