Yes - this is true. Wish I knew what Maria's last name was. Any
ideas? I have had a flood of information this week on Hervey's family.

Hervey's children:

William R. Brown
Harry Munroe Brown
Josiah Brown

Frank C. Brown -- (with Eleanor)

I have some on William - I have him in Matteawan by 1865. There are
several William Browns and I think more than one William R. Brown. I
haven't nailed down which family is his - though I know he was a hat
maker - shoe maker - tailor ---

H. Munroe Brown - this week it seems he dropped his entire family
history right down to 2008 - right on my head this week. His wife
Mary Jones - and their daughter Kate married a Bevier (a Huguenot - so
from there one - the Bevier line has already been done)

Fishkill Newspaper Abstracts - Spackenkill FHC - "The melancholy death
by drowning of Mr. H. Munroe Brown, of Matteawan, is by now familiar
to our saddened citizens. Mr. Brown, with two others, went to Yonkers
on Wednesday of last week, having been appointed delegates to a
hatter's convention there. After the meeting, his friends not being
with him, he was running to catch the return train at the depot, and
it is supposed he fell into the water or was knocked off the train by
the bridge, in attempting to get on board. His body was found Friday
morning in the water at the draw bridge, just north of the depot. His
body was brought home Saturday, and on Monday was buried with Masonic
honors."

The days I've spent walking through cemeteries looking for stones - I
found Munroe's stone in a matter a seconds. Unbelievable.

Great new info on Josiah Brown thanks to the account book and the
notes left by Harriet Brown Ives.

Then we come to Frank C. Brown --- ? Living with Josiah in Schoharie
in 1880 - Do you know about think about Frank C. Brown - Hervey's son
with Eleanor Collins? If so - all I can say is - I won't be able to
hold it in any longer --- the week has been just too good. (My poor
dog is not too happy - I've hardly slept a wink in a week)

You wouldn't be related to them by any chance?

Mark
