Do you have a free library card from the Steele Memorial Library in Elmira, NY?? If so, suggest you get one as it allows you to get Heritage Quest censuses and other searches free with your library bar code.? While it only indexes the head of the households, one can browse the area.? Some censuses seem not to be covered or yet indexed (as the 1930 census) by HQ, but if you live in that region, the Steele Memorial Library has just about all the censuses available.? It has a great collection of material on Steuben Co. such as books that list all the residents in about all the early censuses and the burials also.? Some other libraries as our Broome Co. P.L. also offer the free HQ.? and ours offers on site use of Ancestry.plus.
