Surname: Hall, Nott
-------------------------
I am still searching for the parents of Gardner Austin Hall and Luthera
Nott who are buried in the Payne Cemetery in Edwards, New York. They appear
in the 1820 census of Antwerp, Jefferson County with three children. They
then appear in the 1830 and 1840 census of Edwards, New York. Gardner Hall
died in 1842 and Luthera in 1860. Luthera remarried Guy Earl. They had
children William C. b 1815, Reuben b.1819, Mary Lavina b. 1817 (married
Ebeneza Green), Benjamin b.1821, Alfred Brooks b. 1824, Gardner Austin
b. 1825, Sally Hall b. 1828, Ellis Oscar b.1830, Sabrina b. 1835, and Esther.
I have indications that Gardner Hall's family was from West Greenwich,
Rhode Island and lived in Herkimer, New York for a while. Luthera is said
to have come from Vermont. There were other Notts is Antwerp, New York
(Theodore, Reuben and Moses) who came from Barnard, Vermont but I have
not found how Luthera is connected. Luthera was sometimes called Olive
or Sabrina. I have more information if anyone is interested.
