Retired Farmer Is 83 Years Old Tues.
In fair health, Kernan W. Sullivan, 60 North Gordon street, observed his 83rd birthday at his home yesterday. He is a retired farmer. Mr. Sullivan was born in Williamsburg, Ont., March 19, 1863, and attended schools in Canada. He worked on farms in that country before coming to Gouverneur in 1893. During that year Mr. Suilivan married Miss Nettie Babcock, daughter of Byron and Emma Babcock, Gouverneur. Rev. S. T. Dibble, then pastor of the Methodist church, performed the cerernony. Mrs. Sullivan died in 1906. Mr. Sullivan remarried in 1907. His bride was Miss Etta Barkley, daughter of Amos and Mary Barkley. Rev. Dibble, then pastor of the Methodist church in Ogdensburg, married the couple in that city. Mr. Sullivan's second wife died in 1927.
Farms on the Rock Island road and Clinton street road were operated by Mr. Sullivan prior to his retirement a few years ago, He is a member of the Odd Fellows and a member of the North Gouverneur Methodist church.
Mr. Sullivan has three sons, Lynn Sullivan, Massena; Verne Sullivan, Clinton road, and Adam Sullivan, Rock Island road. Another son, Morley Sullivan, died in 1920. He also has three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
