mother Mary Purcell,Irish Descent. Marion was of Shinnecock Indian
Ancestory and I appreciate help in verifying it..


The collection of Vital Records begin in 1881, and are required to be kept by
the city or town, as the case may be, in which the event (birth, death,
marriage) occurred and by the state (Albany). Currently, there are 10 towns
in Suffolk County (and 2 cities and 3 towns in Nassau County).

Patchogue is a village (incorporated in 1893) in the Town of Brookhaven and
East Moriches is a hamlet, also in the Town of Brookhaven.
