I see that my letter could cause some confusion as I skipped a
generation in my haste. After the signer came the signer's only son,
Nicoll Floyd. Nicoll's son was William Floyd who was the father of my
Grandfather William Floyd b. 1858. My Grandpa is the one who married
Frances Woodruff. (BTW, the signers father was named Nicoll Floyd)

Don't know if this is much clearer!
