What a great idea, BJ! In honor of the installation of our new fearless
list-leader, Flora Newby, the roll call is timely indeed.
My name is Susan Willig living in AZ. The Suffolk County surname I'm
chasing is ARTHUR. It goes back to the early to mid 1700's and further in
Smithtown, Long Island. Then four Arthur brothers moved north to Clinton
County where farm land was in greater supply.
Any chance that someone could do a look-up for me re. those Arthurs in
Smithtown??? Thanks.
The other surnames of interest to me are: SEAL, GARFIELD, EMPEY, LAURSEN or
LAURSON, WINEGARD, and STEWART.
Greetings to all...
Susan

Hi List - I'd love to see this list become more active. If there are only
about 30 members, how about if we each check in and list the surnames we're
researching? Then spread the word to anyone you know with Suffolk County
roots. Flora's idea of a Roll Call is a great one!
Ned Smith - what Smith family are you connected to?
BJ Anderson, Alexandria, VA
Researching: SMITH, HAIT, FINLAYSON, WOOLLEY, BENJAMIN
