Hi, everyone~

I'm looking for any information on Isaac ALLABY, who was born @ 1756 in
Huntington. According to Huntington Town Records, on Sept 7, 1772 Isaac
ALLABEE the son of Jeremiah ALLABEE was officially indentured to Isaac
Johnson & his wife.

The people present for the indenture include Thomas Conkling, Jr, Isreal
Wood, John Wood, Stephen Kellcy, Henry Scudder, Solomon Ketcham, Philip
Ketcham, Thomas Jarvis and Jonas Williams. You can view the record at:

I'm also interested in the whole indenture/apprentice thing....like did
people do it for money, or debt or just a normal part of life?

During the American Revolution, he joined the 2d New Jersey Volunteers
and for for the Loyalists. Don't think the DAR can help on this one
<grin> Needless to say, he ended up in Canada in 1784.

Below is some information that a cousin has from the Huntington
Historical Society, with possible spelling variations. I'm interested
in any information on any of these people:

The Presbyterian Church of Smithtown, about ten miles east of
Huntington, has
this entry in its records: 6 Feb 1754, Jeremiah ALBIN and Jean Foster;
marriage

other entries—- Profession of religion, 10 May 1752, John and
Mehetable ALIBEY
baptism, 10 May 1752, Jonathan of John and Mehetable ALIBEEN (?Alibey)

(varient spelling)

In the Salmon records: 1724 Mar 25 Jn ALIBON & Hannah Pike

The records of the Old First Church (Huntington First Church) : 1757-
Isaac
and Jane ALLABE Baptism 31 July 1757 Hannah ALLABE
marriage 12 Mar 1759 William ALLABE and
Vashti Johnson
Marraige, 1 Jan 1764 , William Davis and
Hannah ALLEBEN

Thanks for any info, nibble, clue, tidbit, etc, surrounding the ALLABY
family!
