Hi Listers
I have found all the Jarvis christenings in the First Church, Huntington,
LI for the dates I am interested in. Does anyone know how closely these
dates in this church coincide with the actual birth of the child ie within
the first year of life, the first 10 years of live, as an adult? The Jarvis
family used a few names over many generations and I am trying to figure out
which child was christened so that I can more easily search the church
records. The IGI shows no parents in the christening batch files otherwise
this question would not arise.
For general information: if you have a batch number, it can be now entered
in the appropriate space in the IGI custon search page without any names or
dates filled in however the general area such as Great Britain or North
America must be filled in. The search returns all persons in the batch file
in alphabetacle (sp) order. This is handy as now you can see spelling
variations of names and also perhaps find ancestors you suspected or did
not know existed
