Hello!
I am searching for information on Rebecca FANSHAW who married before 1686 John SMITH, son of Arthur SMITH "The Quaker" and wife Martha, probably in Southold or Setauket/Brookhaven.

Rebecca FANSHAW & John SMITH's son John SMITH m. Mary BURNET and they also had a daughter Deborah.

John SMITH is first mentioned in Brookhaven in 1670 when he bought a horse from Richard WOODHULL. He is not listed on the 1676 rate list, but is on the lists for 1683 and 1701.

The FANSHAW name may appear as FANSHER, FANCHER, or possibly even FANCY. Would like to confirm Rebecca's maiden name! There is also a connection to BIGGS through the SMITHs in Setauket. A bit later in Currituck NC there is a group of FANSHAWs also with a connection to BIGGS.

Would appreciate any info on Rebecca FANSHAW, or any reference to the FANSHAW name during this period that may help track her and her family down! Thank you!
