I found further informatiion that might be of help. My grandfather also
had another brother named Joseph. We had also been told that Douglaston,
NY was named after the family. There is also an Alexander Douglas on the
family tree, what connection, we don't know. We know this family moved
from Brooklyn across Long Island to West Hampton Beach in Suffolk. That
branch of the family was at least there in the 1920's. Does this help?
