Subject: [NYSUFFOL] CORWIN, Samuel - died 1762/1785

I have placed some material on two of the Samuel Corwins of the early
1700s's at the following web page:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~riss/ny/southold/myths_discoveries/corwin.html#samuel_who

This essay concerns the identity of the parents of these two Samuels.

Additional info is welcome:

There are two Samuel Corwins who had good sized families in the early
1700's.

A) One married Experience Corwin Apr 13, 1732, left 1762
will.

B) The other married, probably, an unknown woman first, and
then a woman whose first name was Phebe. (According to Aquebogue
Records, a widow, Phebe Corwin, died May 4th, 1783.) Left 1776 will,
proved 1785. This one is likely the one, age 72, born 1706, in
the 1778 Oath to the King by all males on Long Island over 14.

The Corwin Genealogy says:

A above was Samuel-4, Theophilus-3, Theophilus-2,
Matthias-1.

B above was: Samuel-4, Samuel-3, John-2, Matthias-1.

With the following analysis I will attempt to prove that A is
correct and B is wrong; and that:

B above is more likely to be: Samuel-4, John-3, John-2,
Matthias-1.
