Ned... thank you very much for sending this to me... I see in Torrey pg 512
he didn't know much about John and didn't give his wife a name.

Do you think that Hannah MITCHELL was born in Hartford? I went
into the ancestral files and found they have her born 1662 at Pinefield,
Hartford, Connecticut.. and in another place in the ancestral files I
find her born abt 1667 of Southampton... so many people have different
sources... and then I think that a lot of them don't have any sources!

Again, Thank you for your help
Wilma

> Sanford (Gateway Press, 1975) Hannah (Mitchell) Sanford, wife of Ezekial 2
> Sanford, was a daughter of John and Jane (prob. Mills) Mitchell. "The
Early
> History of Southampton, L.I., New York, with Genealogies" by George Rogers
> Howell (!887), says the Mitchell family lived in Bridgehampton from 1686

> Samuel Mills. Howell does not have any info on Jane, the wife of John
> Mitchell. I doubt she really was a Mills. The recent article "Richard
Mills,
> Seventeenth-Century Schoolmaster in Connecticut and New York" by Helen
> Schatvet Ullmann, CG (New England Historical and Genealogical Register,
Vol.
> 154, April 2000, pp. 189-210) covers the Mills family of Southampton, and
> Jane does not appear.
