Your response caught my eye because I am looking for researchers of both
these lineages in SUFFOLK Co., N.Y.
My ancestor Mordecai Homan, (b1749-d1805)married Mary Leek. A family Bible
passed to Dr. Frank Overton (still living in 1929.) This Bible records
his daughter's birth, Mercy Homan who is my gr-gr-gr-grandmother. Dr. Overton
was descended from Mary Glover who was a daughter of said Mercy Homan Glover
and Samuel Glover. I realize this does not put him the same line of descent
as the Elizabeth Homan ancestor you describe but perhaps they were collateral
relatives. At least the linkage is intriguing. If you can shed some light
on the Overtons and the Homans it would be greatly appreciated.
