I am a new member of the list and am researching the above family in the
Huntington area. Hepzibah/Hepseby SMITH was the daughter of Jehiel SMITH
and his wife, Keziah WOOD. The IGI says she was christened 1 Feb 1735 at
Huntington (I haven't found where yet).

She married William SMITH "of New York City" 8 Dec 1758 at Trinity Church
Parish in NYC. I haven't been able to find any other info on this William
Smith, and wondered if he could be from one of the other Smith families in
or near Huntington. I haven't ever been to Long Island or NYC, and just
wondered how you would meet someone from NYC in the 1750's - maybe they
were cousins???

Does anyone have any information, clues or ideas about where I could find
out about the family of William Smith? One Smith family is hard enough,
without having them marry another Smith !
