In the Name of God Amen the Nineteenth day of November Ano Dom 1747 I Josiah Topping of Southampton in ye County of Suffolk and in the Colony of New York Yeoman being weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and Ordaine this my last Will and Testament that is to say
principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the Hands of God that gave it and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Buriall at ye
discretion of my Executors Nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive ye same again by ye Mighty power of God And as touching such worldly Estate
wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise + dispose of the same in ye following manner and form
Imprimus I give to my beloved Wife Abigail Five pounds
beside her lawfull Rights
Item I give my beloved Son Thomas Topping five shillings and
no more
Item I give unto my beloved Daughter Mehetobell Sanford five shillings and no more
Item I give unto my beloved Son Josiah Topping five shillings and no more
Item I give unto my beloved Daughter Easther Topping Five pounds
Item I give unto my beloved daughter Keturah Topping ten Pounds
I order my windmill to be sold by way of Public vendue and I give unto my beloved Son Abram Topping and my beloved Son Edward Topping all my lands and Buildings and commonages throughout the Bounds of Southampton Equilly to be divided between them two to them and to their heirs and
assigns forever.
I make and Ordain Job Pierson Esquire to be my Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby utterly disallow Revoke and disannull all and every other former Testaments Wills Legacies and Bequests and Executors by me in any ways before named Willed and Bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to
be my last Will and Testament In Witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and Seale day and year above Written

George Clinton Esq Captain General and Governour in Chief of the province of New York and Territories there on depending in America Vice Admiral of the same and Vice
Admiral of the red Squadron of his Majestys Fleet To all to whom the presents shall come or may concern Greeting Know ye that at Suffolk County on the day of the date hereof
before Brinley Sylvester Esq being thereunto delegated and appointed the last Will and Testament of Josiah Topping deceased a Copy whereof is hereunto annexed was proved
and now approved and allowed of by me the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death Goods rights and Credits in diverse places within this Province by
means whereof the full disposition of all and Singular the Goods rights and Credits of the said deceased and the granting Administration of them as also the hearing of Account
Calculation or Reckoning and the final discharge and dismission from the same unto me solely and not into any inferior Judge are manifestly known to belong and the
Administration of all and Singular the Goods rights and Credits of the said deceased and his last Will and Testament in any manner of ways concerning was granted unto Job
Pierson the Executor therein named chiefly of well and truly administring the same and of making a true and perfect inventory of all and Singular the Goods rights and Credits of the said deceased and Exhibiting the same into the Registry of the Prerogative Court in the Secretarys Office of the Province of New York at or before the twenty third day of June
next ensuing and of rendring a just and true Account Calculation or Reckoning thereof when thereunto required the said Job Pierson having been duely sworn to the true
Execution and performance of the said Will In Testimony whereof I have caused the Prerogative Seal of the Province of New York to be hereunto affixed this Twenty third day of December One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Seven
