Subject: [NYSUFFOL] German Spies on LI 1942--location of captured materials
Date: Sun, 22 Jul 2001 23:27:53 -0400
Hi,
In 1942, six German spies landed on Long Island. They buried 4 boxes of
supplies, which were quickly found by the Coast Guard. A photo of some of
the contents credited "Ira Schwarz 1992" appears on LIhistory.com, a site
run by Newsday.
I need to know the location of those recovered items, so I can take
additional photos and study some of them for a genealogy/military history
article I am writing. Any clues?
Thanks
