I have been researching the life of Monsignor John J. Brennan (1886-1964), a grand old gent who happened to be my dad’s uncle. Monsignor Brennan served the Diocese of Brooklyn for 52 years, first as a curate, then as a pastor at various parishes in Brooklyn and on Long Island. He also was a member of the diocesan school board and cemetery board, as well as 1st VP of The Tablet, the diocesan newspaper. His last assignment was as pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn.

Thanks to so many wonderful folks on the web, I’ve been able to collect some fascinating memories of my dad’s uncle. The search continues. I am now trying to collect memories of some of Monsignor Brennan’s priestly friends and colleagues. In learning more about them, I can learn more about him. If you ever knew any of the follow priests, perhaps you would take a few minutes to jot down a memory or two and email them to me at . And yes, I’ve already been in touch with the Diocese of Brooklyn’s archives. Hard facts I have; people’s memories of these men are what I’m looking for.
