This is my final post of THANKS to all of you that have helped in the search for the WWII crew member,George Stanley GOLDER, or surviving family members.

I posted to all of the lists I could think of. Mary, the crew, and I followed up on all of the look-ups you so kindly did, the leads you supplied, phone numbers and addresses,and the suggestions you offered. We had a lot of new information, and learned that George died in 1965, but still no living family member to tell us "George's" story.

We had hit a brick wall and although the crew was very grateful for the information we had it looked like we had gone as far as we could. As a last resort, I took all of the information we had accumilated, scanned the photo online, and sent a out mailing of 60 letters to every Arthur Golder, Patricia Gold, Masonic lodges, veterans organizations, the fire department, the post office, and just about every Golder address in NY that I could find. That was last Thursday. On Monday I received an email from a Golder on Long Island with some suggestions and an offer to pass the information along in an effort to help.

Today, I received in the mail, a letter from Arthur W. Golder of TN, the brother of George Stanley Golder. His letter in part reads"I was about knocked out of my boots when I received your most interesting letter", "I remember the photo which my brother showed me when he came home". Needless to say, I was crying by this time. Additionally, he passed on the information to "Alice Golder, who is living with her daughter Patricia". That would be George's wife and daughter. What joy it brought to Mary and the crew.

And so dear listers, THANK YOU for taking the time to help these WWII veterans find information on their "missing crew member". "George's story" can now be included in Berkeley Boyd's book.
