Hi Virginia:
I am relying on a book " Greenport: Yesterday and Today"
The property( Conklin Mansion/Farm) was on the Long Island Sound on the old King's Highway and east side of Mill Creek. The Mansion in the article is referred to the Dick Conklin Mansion at Arshamomoque. It was also called the Sound View Stock Farm. He was a horse owner and trainer of notable Trotters.
The Property became a golf course and later a labor camp. My Kerwin grandparents owned the property in the 1930's and it was always referred to by them as the Country Club.
I was not born at the time the family enjoyed summers there, but I have one 87 year old cousin who recognized the photo of the Mansion on page 228 of the referenced book.
Hope you can help. Thanks, Jim Kerwin Poling
