At the entrance to Smithrown is a statue of a green (brass) bull...in honor of Richartd (bull) Smith

Legend has it that he rode a bull around an area he was to inherit, and one of the roads dividing Smithtown from Huntington, is named Bread and Cheese Hollow Road. That's where he supposedly stopped for lunch and what he ate.

i know of obadih smith and smithtown was named for one of the smiths. theres a statue of one of the smiths in smithtown. the hallocks are on the north fork in riverhad township.eithewr from smithtown or huntington. funny we were trying to remember a hallock first name only yesterday. ill try to jog my memory. virginia ps hallocks could be in southhold township.
