William Ayres married, in 1798, Martha Nichols
b. abt 1780, in Smithtown.
William is refered to as William 'Aries' in the
1800 NY Census Brookhaven Township.
In 1802 he sold his 20 acres to Stephen Gates and
moved to Yates County, NY. Martha died
in 1856 in Schuyler County.

Does any one have any information about the Ayres/Ayers
on Long Island or in Suffolk County?
