An incredible surprise would be for someone knowledgeable of Shelter Island in the early or mid 1940's to contact me with the name of a gentleman farmer of Shelter Island who raised white Long Island ducks, also Fordhook Lima Beans which he processed [froze] there on the island. I know this operation went on for three to four years at the least. Also would like to know if The Shelter Island House with Louis' Arbor is still there? I have post card picture of this hotel which I can jpeg if anyone is interested. Would also appreciate someone from the Shelter Island Historical Society contact me by E-Mail.
