I am looking for the location of Sunk or Sunken Meadow, Long Island. I believe this is a name that was once used for Smithtown but I am lacking documentation to support this theory.
Brewster Soper was my 2nd great-grandfather. His death certificate states he was born in Sunk Meadow, Long Island on July 7, 1811. He died May 10, 1887 in Rose, Wayne County, NY. Brewster's parents were Amos Soper and Sarah "Sally" Porter. They were married January 15, 1804 in Smithtown, Suffolk County.
Can anyone provide information documenting the location of Sunk(en) Meadow and if it was a name formerly used for Smithtown?
