Hello: Here is what I have on Chapman /O'Connor. Cordelia Chapman, daughter of Thomas Chapman and Martha Hemingway, was b. 14 Sep 1853. She married an O'Connor, first name unknown to me. In 1910, 3 of Thos. and Martha's children lived in the Greenport, L.I., N.Y. area according to family "lore"..they were Thomas A. Chapman, Cordelia Chapman O'Connor and Sarah Chapman Ritzheimer. I have not been able to trace these names. The Chapman's are suppose to be early, 1714, settlers of Southold when it encompessed Stony Brook, Smithtown, Brookhaven etc. I don't know if they came over from Connecticut (New Haven or Stamford) where there were many Chapmans. My grandfather, Arthur Chapman, was a direct descendant of these people I have mentioned. I hope we can help each other. Thanks, Bill
