I noticed another Poths user on Ancestry.com. Are you searching your family also? The Poths family name I belong to from records handed down to me through family indicate Phillip William Poths, my great, great grandfather and Nettie Fredricka Heimann Poths came to America in 1870's with my great grandfather William Carl Poths at age 16. Family originated from Panrod, Nassau Province, Germany, looks like they may have lived in Hamburg before coming to America and settling in Sandusky, Ohio area. Two brothers also immigrated Phillip Frederick Poths, 1872 and Charles (Karl) William Poths, 1871. In the past 5 years, I have come across 2 other settlements of Poths -- one seem to have originated in Indiana -- Brad Poths, Minier, IL -- his mother has family information and just recently a Steve Poths in New York City. There was a list sent to my father of Poths's living in the U.S. The Poths family name from what information I have may end with my brother and my 2 cousins!
. It seems all male Poths carrying Poths name with children were all girls. I want to find out if my great, great grandfather had brothers and sisters, parents who also migrated to America and is there any connection to other Poths family here in U.S. and still in Germany. I did not come across any Christians or Marilyn in waht information I have. If you have anything you can share with me, please send e-mail.
