Newsday is definitely the best paper to check. There is also
the New York Post but it has always been slanted. Newsday had a great interest in Gerry's career being a hometown boy.
I believe he had to step away from fighting for the Golden Gloves because his father passed away. I went to high school with Gerry and went to several of his fights. If I can help let me know.
